Organic vineyards and artisanal wines in Tuscany

The idea

We are in Val di Chiana, near Arezzo.
Since 2008, we have passionately managed vineyards and olive groves, invoking Tunia, the Etruscan god overseeing the maturation of fruits.
Our principles are respect, care, and knowledge.
In the fields, we strive to maintain natural balance with spontaneous grassing, herbal and propolis treatments (with minimal copper and sulfur), and homemade compost.
In the cellar, we use indigenous yeasts, no clarifications, filtrations, or stabilizations. Our wines faithfully express the grapes, the land, and the vintage.

Who we are

Tunia was founded in 2008 by Francesca Di Benedetto, her brother Andrea, and their friend Chiara Innocenti.
Francesca handles production, Chiara manages sales, and Andrea oversees finances.
The old Sangiovese and Trebbiano vineyards, planted in 1970, are complemented by newer Cabernet Sauvignon plantings and 600 olive trees.
They aim to minimize intervention, promoting the natural balance of this valuable heritage.

Our products

In our vineyards, Sangiovese and Trebbiano dominate, resulting in:

SOTTOFONDO
A sparkling white wine from 100% Trebbiano grapes

CHIAROFIORE
A macerated white wine made from Trebbiano and 15% Vermentino

CHIASSOBUIO
A Chianti blend (over 90% Sangiovese, Colorino, and Canaiolo), released after significant aging
(10 years in cellar and bottle)

PASSATEMPO
A dessert wine, 500 bottles annually, 100% Trebbiano,
processed in small barrels like traditional Vin Santo

We also have a vineyard of Cabernet Sauvignon from which originates
CANTOMORO
100% Cabernet Sauvignon with over 10 years of aging

And then there’s
CONTRAPPUNTO
a fresh red wine, a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, meant to be enjoyed young

Finally, there’s OLIO, the extra virgin olive oil (Frantoio, Leccino, and Moraiolo)
